Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to play a key role within our collaborative HR team. Reporting to the Head of HR Operations, you will operate as a trusted individual contributor, helping to drive and support impactful HR initiatives.

 

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in human resources, hands-on experience with employment-based immigration and a passion for driving continuous improvement in the face of change.

Responsibilities

  • Support the administration and execution of key HR programs, including compensation, benefits, and performance and talent development
  • Manage immigrant and non-immigrant visa matters, including but not limited to: H-1B, L-1, TN, PERM, I-140, I-485, and EADs and support international student internships and training plans (J-1, STEM-OPT, etc.)
  • Partner with external legal counsel in the preparation of non-immigrant employment-based petitions as required and for guidance on complex issues
  • Train end users and maintain employee data integrity in the HRIS system
  • Reinforce best practices and answer employee and manager inquiries about HR programs, policies, and other HR-related items in a timely manner.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory and compliance initiatives and laws

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of human resources experience with some exposure to benefits administration or involvement in benefits-related processes
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree or related HR certification a plus
  • Deep understanding of U.S. immigration law and employment-based visa processes, including PERM and experience working with external immigration counsel
  • 2+ years of progressive HRIS experience, HRIS implementation experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships and collaborate across teams
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

In accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $130,000. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
