You will have the opportunity to work on various aspects of our technology including developing and optimizing our trading platform, utilizing low level technology and network programming, finding a high-volume data-processing solution for the daily analysis of the firm’s trading activities across all asset classes, and augmenting, improving, and redesigning software systems that support and monitor our trading activity in real-time.

You will be able to make an immediate and visible contribution automating and improving our firmwide trading infrastructure. Some projects include application development on start-of day processes, real-time reconciliations, database manipulations (e.g. symbol reference, market data), process automation, running advanced reports, and deploying/developing web services.

This role is ideal for those who are passionate about working with high-throughput financial data and have a serious interest in a career in quantitative trading. The role will directly impact the group’s trading activities and help drive its revenue.

• BS/MS degree in computer science or related field
• Experience with C++
• Experience operating in a Linux environment
• Experience with optimizing performance, processing throughput, latency, and memory footprint within a complex real-time system
• Familiarity with binary data, multi-threading, real-time and distributed software systems
• Thorough understanding of computer networking protocols and concepts including IP/TCP/UDP, NAT, DNS, NFS, and similar systems.
• Strong programming skills and grasp of concurrent programming patterns and data structures
• Solid understanding of real-time system and network paradigms
• Strong communication skills, ability to express complex concepts in simple terms, verbally and in writing
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an open and collaborative environment
• Experience with UNIX utilities and scripting (Python, shell, etc.), experience with a version control system (e.g., Git) highly preferred.
