Overview

As a Financial Analytics Python Developer, you will work as part of the Trading Analytics technology department to develop systems which analyze the trading performance of GTS across US and global equities, derivatives, ETFs, fixed-income, OTC, FX, and more.  We are a technology driven team looking for talented data engineers with a passion for solving complex problems. You will gain firmwide exposure and work on the firm’s central books and records, providing insights into the firm’s activity across all asset classes.

Responsibilities

  • Apply data analysis techniques to investigate new data sets and identify precise technical requirements for business needs
  • Organize data sets, typically with relational databases
  • Develop and support high-volume data processing pipelines and robust applications
  • Work with a modern tech stack including Python, Pandas, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, Apache Airflow, Docker, and HashiCorp Vault
  • Communicate and collaborate with all organizational levels of the firm, including the many business units, traders, finance, and senior management

 

Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in computer science, electrical engineering, data engineering or related field
  • Strong Python language knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience operating in a Linux environment and with Unix utilities
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases in particular
  • Ability to solve problems in a development or production environment, including experience observing patterns, analyzing root causes and suggesting ideas to resolve issues
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, ability to express complex concepts in simple terms, verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of securities markets or the financial industry is not required but highly desirable
