Overview

GTS is currently seeking a talented Tech Operations Engineer to join the technology team of our FX Market Making trading division. As part of a team that provides round-the-clock support for our trading activities, this role will provide coverage of APAC trading hours. The APAC working hours required for this position are 6 pm EST to 2 am EST, Sunday to Friday. This role plays a critical part for the firm, managing and overseeing all aspects of the production trading system. Using proprietary as well as third party software and tools, our team’s mission is to provide top tier support to our traders and other teams in the organization by proactively monitoring, aggressively troubleshooting, and minimizing the impact of technical issues.  We are looking for candidates with enthusiasm, a curious mind, and an ability to work autonomously. The ideal candidate will have a background in computer science or a related field, with a strong interest in finance and trading.

Responsibilities

  • Own the production trading environment: deployment, configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Build and maintain the team’s tech stack that focuses on observability and automation of operations
  • Liaise with exchanges and other counterparties on topics such as connectivity, trade activity, and other technical support issues
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to troubleshoot complex problems
  • Provide best in class support to our traders
  • Leverage proprietary tools and observability/DevOps software (Jenkins, Prefect, Grafana, Zabbix etc.) to identify and act on issues and drive improvements
  • Improve upon and document existing processes and procedures

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Python and/or other scripting languages
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • A degree in CS, a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to cover APAC trading hours
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills
  • Excellent time management and an ability to multitask efficiently
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure or time sensitive situations
  • Reliable and predictable availability
  • 1-3 years of work experience preferred, but not required
  • Basic knowledge of foreign exchange & futures markets, trading systems is a plus

In accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role is $50,000 to $80,000. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
